An act relating to the Department of Transportation;

amending s. 339.135, F.S.; requiring legislative

4

notification by the department of all projects that will

5

exceed a total cost of $75 million; providing an effective

6

date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1.  Paragraph (i) is added to subsection (4) of

11

section 339.135, Florida Statutes, to read:

12

     339.135  Work program; legislative budget request;

13

definitions; preparation, adoption, execution, and amendment.--

14

     (4)  FUNDING AND DEVELOPING A TENTATIVE WORK PROGRAM.--

15

     (i) Concurrent with the submittal of the tentative work

16

program under paragraph (h), the department shall submit to each

17

member of the Legislature a listing of projects for which the

18

total costs of all associated phases exceeds $75 million. The

19

list must include:

20

     1. The location of the project;

21

     2. The total estimated cost of all associated phases,

22

including those not programmed in the tentative work program;

23

     3. The proposed schedule for completion; and

24

     4. A description of the benefit to the state which would be

25

achieved by the project.

     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
