An act relating to memory disorder clinics; amending s.

430.502, F.S.; revising terminology relating to the East

Central Florida Memory Disorder Clinic; providing an

effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1.  Paragraph (e) of subsection (1) of section

10

430.502, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:

     430.502  Alzheimer's disease; memory disorder clinics and

12

day care and respite care programs.--

13

     (1)  There is established:

14

     (e) The Memory Disorder Clinic, Inc., operating in Brevard

15

County The East Central Florida Memory Disorder Clinic at the

16

Joint Center for Advanced Therapeutics and Biomedical Research of

17

the Florida Institute of Technology and Holmes Regional Medical

18

Center, Inc.;

for the purpose of conducting research and training in a

21

diagnostic and therapeutic setting for persons suffering from

22

Alzheimer's disease and related memory disorders. However, memory

23

disorder clinics funded as of June 30, 1995, shall not receive

24

decreased funding due solely to subsequent additions of memory

25

disorder clinics in this subsection.

     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
