An act relating to enterprise zones; authorizing the

Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development to

4

designate enterprise zones in Orange County and Osceola

5

County which include the boundaries of a community

6

redevelopment zone; requiring that the application be

7

submitted by a specified date; requiring the office to

8

establish the initial effective date of the enterprise

9

zone; providing an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1. Enterprise zone designation for Orange County

14

and the City of Orlando and for Osceola County and the City of

15

Kissimmee.--Orange County and the City of Orlando and Osceola

16

County and the City of Kissimmee may jointly apply to the Office

17

of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development for designation of

18

two enterprise zones encompassing areas that include the

19

boundaries of the community redevelopment zone established under

20

part III of chapter 163, Florida Statutes. The application must

21

be submitted by December 31, 2008, and must comply with the

22

requirements of s. 290.0055, Florida Statutes. Notwithstanding s.

23

290.0065, Florida Statutes, which limits the total number of

24

enterprise zones designated and the number of enterprise zones

25

within a population category, the Office of Tourism, Trade, and

26

Economic Development may designate one enterprise zone under this

27

section. The Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development

28

shall establish the initial effective date of the enterprise zone

29

designated pursuant to this section.

     Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
