A joint resolution proposing the repeal of Sections 15 and

23 of Article X of the State Constitution, relating to

state operated lotteries and slot machine gaming.

Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     That the repeal of Sections 15 and 23 of Article X of the

9

State Constitution is agreed to and shall be submitted to the

10

electors of this state for approval or rejection at the next

11

general election or at an earlier special election specifically

12

authorized by law for that purpose.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following statement be

14

placed on the ballot:

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT

ARTICLE X, SECTIONS 15 AND 23

     REPEALING AUTHORIZATION FOR state lotteries and slot machine

18

gaming.--Proposing the repeal of Section 15 of Article X of the

19

State Constitution to remove the authorization for lotteries to

20

be operated by the state and the repeal of Section 23 of Article

21

X of the State Constitution to remove authorization for slot

22

machines in pari-mutuel facilities in Miami-Dade and Broward

23

Counties.
