A resolution recognizing the Riverdale High School

Raiders Wrestling Team as winners of the 2008 Florida

4

State High School Athletic Association Class A State

5

Championship.

     WHEREAS, the Riverdale High School Raiders Wrestling Team

8

under the leadership of Coach Kris Hayward earned the 2008

9

Florida State High School Athletic Association Class A State

10

Championship and achieved five state individual titles during the

11

competition, and

12

     WHEREAS, outstanding skill, sportsmanship, and

13

competitiveness have been characteristic of Raider teammates Jack

14

Gunn, Dusty Fellows, Mikah Fellows, Scotti Sentes, and Aron

15

Sanchez, and

16

     WHEREAS, Scotti Sentes earned a fourth consecutive state

17

championship title in the 125-pound class making him the eighth

18

four-time champion in state history and the first four-time

19

champion from Southwest Florida, and

20

     WHEREAS, Jack Gunn  produced an individual title in the 275-

21

pound class, and

22

     WHEREAS, Dusty Fellows earned an individual title in the

23

145-pound class, and

24

     WHEREAS, Mikah Fellows captured an individual title in the

25

140-pound class, and

26

     WHEREAS, Aron Sanchez took the individual title in the 135-

27

pound class, NOW, THEREFORE,

Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

     That the Florida Senate commends the Riverdale High School

32

Raiders Wrestling Team for the honor and pride they have brought

33

to this state by their outstanding dedication and performance as

34

athletes.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of the resolution, with

36

the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to the Riverdale

37

High School Wrestling Team as a tangible token of the sentiments

38

of the Florida Senate.
