A resolution recognizing the Evangelical Christian School

Sentinel's Volleyball Team as winners of the 2007 Florida

4

State High School Athletic Association Class 2A State

5

Championship.

     WHEREAS, the Evangelical Christian School Sentinel's

8

Volleyball Team under the leadership of Head Coach Tom Baxter

9

earned the 2007 Florida State High School Athletic Association

10

Class 2A State Championship and achieved five state individual

11

titles during the competition, and

12

     WHEREAS, outstanding skill, sportsmanship, and

13

competitiveness have been characteristic of Sentinel's teammates

14

Kendra Altemeyer, Nichole Baker, Christa Bergquist, Candice

15

Biltz, Camille Bowers, Brittany Bunch, Sheryl Davis, Jennifer

16

Evans, Kelsey Fox, Kaitlin Holm, Kara Presbrey, Taylor Scully,

17

Dawn Shoemaker, Hannah Truitt, and Holly Youngquist, and

18

     WHEREAS, Holly Youngquist and Sheryl Davis were named to the

19

First Team All-State 2007, and

20

     WHEREAS, Kaitlin Holm and Brittany Bunch were named to the

21

Second Team All-State 2007, and

22

     WHEREAS, Sheryl Davis was named the Most Valuable Player for

23

the News-Press All-Southwest Florida Team 2007, and

24

     WHEREAS, Kaitlin Holm and Holly Youngquist were named to the

25

First Team News-Press All-Southwest Florida Team 2007, and

26

     WHEREAS, Dawn Shoemaker, Candace Blitz, and Jen Evans

27

received Honorable Mention All-Southwest Florida recognition,

28

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

     That the Florida Senate commends the Evangelical Christian

33

School Sentinel's Volleyball Team for the honor and pride they

34

have brought to this state by their outstanding dedication and

35

performance as athletes.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution, with

37

the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to the Evangelical

38

Christian School Sentinel's Volleyball Team as a tangible token

39

of the sentiments of the Florida Senate.
