3     Amendment to Amendment (741013) (with title amendment)
4     Between lines 11 and 12, insert:
5     (6)  The Department of Education and the Department of
6Environmental Protection shall, in coordination with
7representatives of the business community, the environmental
8community, and the energy community, develop a program to
9provide awards or recognition for outstanding efforts or
10achievements concerning conservation, energy and water use,
11cleaning solutions, pest management, recycling efforts, and
12curriculum consistent with efforts that enhance the quality of
13education while preserving the environment. Entities that are
14eligible for such an award or recognition include students,
15classes, teachers, schools, or district school boards. The
16Legislature encourages the Department of Education and the
17Department of Environmental Protection to form partnerships with
18the private sector which help fund the program.
