An act relating to community redevelopment areas; creating

s. 163.359, F.S.; authorizing a county or municipality to

use ad valorem tax revenues to provide certain services in

community redevelopment areas; providing an effective

date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1.  Section 163.359, Florida Statutes, is created to

11

read:

     163.359 Use of county or municipal ad valorem taxes.--

13

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a county or

14

municipality may use ad valorem tax revenues to provide law

15

enforcement, fire protection, or emergency medical services

16

within a community redevelopment area located within the

17

respective county or municipality.

     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
