8 | 320.08058 Specialty license plates.-- |
9 | (65) FLORIDA TENNIS LICENSE PLATES.-- |
10 | (a) The department shall develop a Florida Tennis license |
11 | plate as provided in this section. The word "Florida" must |
12 | appear at the top of the plate, and the words "Play Tennis" must |
13 | appear at the bottom of the plate. The United States Tennis |
14 | Association Florida Section Foundation may submit a revised |
15 | sample plate for consideration by the department. |
16 | (b) The annual use fees shall be distributed to the |
17 | Florida Sports Foundation, a direct-support organization of the |
18 | Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development. The license |
19 | plate annual use fees shall be annually allocated as follows: |
20 | 1. The United States Tennis Association Florida Section |
21 | shall receive the first $60,000 in proceeds from the annual use |
22 | fees to reimburse it for startup costs, administrative costs, |
23 | and other costs it incurs in the development and approval |
24 | process. |
25 | 2. Up to 5 percent of the proceeds from the annual use |
26 | fees may be used by the Florida Sports Foundation to administer |
27 | the license plate program. |
28 | 3. Up to 5 percent of the annual use fees may be used for |
29 | promoting and marketing the license plates. |
30 | 4. The remaining proceeds shall be made available by the |
31 | Florida Sports Foundation for grants awarded by the United |
32 | States Tennis Association Florida Section Foundation to benefit |
33 | nonprofit organizations to operate youth tennis programs and |
34 | adaptive tennis programs for special populations of all ages, |
35 | and for building, renovating, and maintaining public tennis |
36 | courts. |
37 | (66) LIGHTHOUSE LICENSE PLATES.-- |
38 | (a) The department shall develop a Lighthouse license |
39 | plate as provided in this section. The word "Florida" must |
40 | appear at the top of the plate, and the words "Visit Our Lights" |
41 | must appear at the bottom of the plate. |
42 | (b) The annual use fee shall be distributed to the Florida |
43 | Lighthouse Association, Inc., which may use a maximum of 10 |
44 | percent of the proceeds to promote and market the plate. The |
45 | remaining proceeds shall be used by the association to fund the |
46 | preservation, restoration, and protection of the 29 historic |
47 | lighthouses remaining in the state. |
48 | (67) I BELIEVE LICENSE PLATES.-- |
49 | (a) Notwithstanding s. 320.08053, the department shall |
50 | develop an I BELIEVE license plate as provided in this section. |
51 | I BELIEVE license plates must bear the colors and design |
52 | approved by the department. The word "Florida" must appear at |
53 | the top of the plate, and the words "I BELIEVE" must appear at |
54 | the bottom of the plate. |
55 | (b) The requirements of s. 320.08053 must be met prior to |
56 | the issuance of the plate. Thereafter, the license plate annual |
57 | use fees shall be distributed to Faith in Teaching, Inc., to |
58 | fund activities, programs, and projects that promote faith-based |
59 | education for youth within the state. Faith in Teaching, Inc., |
60 | may retain all revenue from the annual use fees until all |
61 | startup costs for developing and establishing the plate have |
62 | been recovered. Thereafter, up to 10 percent of the annual use |
63 | fee revenue may be used for administrative, promotional, and |
64 | marketing costs. |
65 | (68) IN GOD WE TRUST LICENSE PLATES.-- |
66 | (a) The department shall develop an In God We Trust |
67 | license plate as provided in this section. However, the |
68 | requirements of s. 320.08053 must be met before the plates are |
69 | issued. In God We Trust license plates must bear the colors and |
70 | design approved by the department. The word "Florida" must |
71 | appear at the top of the plate, and the words "In God We Trust" |
72 | must appear in the body of the plate. |
73 | (b) The license plate annual use fees shall be distributed |
74 | to the In God We Trust Foundation, Inc., to fund educational |
75 | scholarships for the children of Florida residents who are |
76 | members of the United States Armed Forces, the National Guard, |
77 | and the United States Armed Forces Reserve and for the children |
78 | of public safety employees who have died in the line of duty who |
79 | are not covered by existing state law. Funds shall also be |
80 | distributed to other 501(c)(3) organizations that may apply for |
81 | grants and scholarships and to provide educational grants to |
82 | public and private schools to promote the historical and |
83 | religious significance of American and Florida history. The In |
84 | God We Trust Foundation, Inc., shall distribute the license |
85 | plate annual use fees in the following manner: |
86 | 1. The In God We Trust Foundation, Inc., shall retain all |
87 | revenues from the sale of such plates until all startup costs |
88 | for developing and establishing the plate have been recovered. |
89 | 2. Ten percent of the funds received by the In God We |
90 | Trust Foundation, Inc., shall be expended for administrative |
91 | costs, promotion, and marketing of the license plate directly |
92 | associated with the operations of the In God We Trust |
93 | Foundation, Inc. |
94 | 3. All remaining funds shall be expended by the In God We |
95 | Trust Foundation, Inc., for programs. |
96 | (69) HORSE COUNTRY LICENSE PLATES.-- |
97 | (a) Notwithstanding s. 320.08053, the department shall |
98 | develop a Horse Country license plate as provided in this |
99 | section. Horse Country license plates must bear the colors and |
100 | design approved by the department. The word "Florida" must |
101 | appear at the top of the plate, and the words "Horse Country" |
102 | must appear at the bottom of the plate. |
103 | (b) The requirements of s. 320.08053 must be met prior to |
104 | the issuance of the plate. Thereafter, the license plate annual |
105 | use fees shall be distributed to PCMI Properties, Inc., to fund |
106 | programs involved in the rehabilitation of at-risk youth as |
107 | directed by the Board of Trustees of PCMI Properties, Inc. Such |
108 | funds may be used to provide educational materials, athletic |
109 | equipment, transportation, food, medical services, counseling, |
110 | scholarships, and other direct administrative and program |
111 | expenses. The funds may also be used as grants for expansion of |
112 | youth rehabilitation programs in the state. Special |
113 | consideration shall be given to programs using horses and other |
114 | livestock in the efforts to redirect at-risk youth. PCMI |
115 | Properties, Inc., may retain all revenue from the annual use |
116 | fees until all startup costs for developing and establishing the |
117 | plate have been recovered. Thereafter, up to 10 percent of the |
118 | annual use fee revenue may be used for promotion and marketing |
119 | of the plate, and as necessary for annual audit or compliance |
120 | affidavit costs. |
121 | (70) FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE LICENSE PLATES.-- |
122 | (a) Notwithstanding s. 320.08053, the department and the |
123 | Florida Fraternal Order of Police shall develop a Fraternal |
124 | Order of Police license plate as provided in this section. |
125 | Fraternal Order of Police license plates must bear the colors |
126 | and design approved by the department. The word "Florida" must |
127 | appear at the top of the plate, and the words "Fraternal Order |
128 | of Police" must appear at the bottom of the plate. |
129 | (b) The requirements of s. 320.08053 must be met prior to |
130 | the issuance of the plate. Thereafter, the license plate annual |
131 | use fees shall be distributed to the Florida State Lodge |
132 | Fraternal Order of Police Memorial Committee, Inc., a 501(c)(3) |
133 | corporation, to fund programs involved in the honoring of law |
134 | enforcement officers who have fallen in the line of duty and |
135 | their families. Such funds may be used to provide maintenance of |
136 | the memorial, scholarship programs for spouses and children of |
137 | fallen officers, and transportation, food, counseling, and other |
138 | direct administrative and program expenses. The funds may also |
139 | be used as grants for expansion of programs for the Florida |
140 | Fraternal Order of Police Law Enforcement Memorial. Florida |
141 | State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police Memorial Committee, Inc., |
142 | may retain all revenue from the annual use fees until all |
143 | startup costs for developing and establishing the plate have |
144 | been recovered. Thereafter, up to 10 percent of the annual use |
145 | fee revenue may be used for promotion and marketing of the plate |
146 | and as necessary for annual audit or compliance affidavit costs. |
