An act relating to certificates of need; amending s.

408.036, F.S.; exempting projects involving geriatric

acute-care, in-patient psychiatric specialty hospital beds

from review; providing an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1.  Paragraph (u) is added to subsection (3) of

10

section 408.036, Florida Statutes, to read:

11

     408.036  Projects subject to review; exemptions.--

12

     (3)  EXEMPTIONS.--Upon request, the following projects are

13

subject to exemption from the provisions of subsection (1):

14

     (u) For the addition of geriatric acute-care, in-patient

15

psychiatric specialty hospital beds.

16

     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
