3     Conference Committee Amendment (with title amendment)
4     Remove everything after the enacting clause and insert:
5     Section 1.  Subsection (1) of section 15.09, Florida
6Statutes, is amended to read:
7     15.09  Fees.--
8     (1)  The fees, except as provided by law, to be collected
9by the Department of State, are:
10     (a)  For searching of papers or records, $3.50, except that
11there shall be no charge for telephone requests for general
12corporate information, including the corporation's status, names
13of officers and directors, address of principal place of
14business, and name and address of resident agent.
15     (a)(b)  For providing a certificate with seal, $8.75;
16however, no fee shall be charged for providing a certificate
17with seal to any officer appointed to an office requiring Senate
18confirmation.
19     (b)(c)  For furnishing statistical information and for
20copying any document not mentioned, $1 per page or fraction
21thereof.
22     Section 2.  Paragraph (m) of subsection (5) of section
23267.031, Florida Statutes, is amended, and paragraphs (n)
24through (p) of that subsection are redesignated as paragraphs
25(m) through (o), respectively, to read:
26     267.031  Division of Historical Resources; powers and
27duties.--
28     (5)  It is the responsibility of the division to:
29     (m)  Establish regional offices for the purpose of
30assisting the division in the delivery of historic preservation
31services to the counties and municipalities of the state and to
32the citizens of the State of Florida. Historic preservation
33regional offices shall be established in at least three areas of
34the state which the division deems appropriate. For each
35regional office established, the division shall establish a
36citizen advisory board to provide assistance, advice, and
37recommendations to the regional office. The members of each
38citizen advisory board shall be appointed by the Secretary of
39State.
40     Section 3.  Subsection (5) of section 267.173, Florida
41Statutes, is amended, and subsections (6) through (8) of that
42section are renumbered as subsections (5) through (7),
43respectively, to read:
44     267.173  Historic preservation in West Florida; goals;
45contracts for historic preservation; powers and duties.--
46     (5)  The Division of Historical Resources in the Department
47of State may contract with the University of West Florida to
48serve as the regional office for the West Florida region of the
49state from the Apalachicola River to the western boundaries of
50the state. In lieu of the establishment of a citizen advisory
51board as required by s. 267.031(5)(m), the University of West
52Florida may use an existing direct-support organization of the
53university provided that the membership of the direct-support
54organization is representative of the area of the state to be
55served and provides the needed expertise in the area of historic
56preservation.
57     Section 4.  Section 267.174, Florida Statutes, is repealed.
58     Section 5.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
