An act relating to property assessments; amending s.

193.023, F.S.; requiring an independent review by the

Department of Revenue of the assessments of property owned

by a county property appraiser; providing an effective

date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1.  Subsection (7) is added to section 193.023,

11

Florida Statutes, to read:

12

     193.023  Duties of the property appraiser in making

13

assessments.--

14

     (7) The Department of Revenue shall conduct an independent

15

review of the assessment of any property in which the property

16

appraiser has an interest.

17

     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
