An act relating to Florida Building Code; repealing s.

553.731, F.S., relating to the requirement that

4

jurisdictions subject to the Florida Building Code require

5

wind-borne-debris protection in compliance with the

6

International Building Code; amending s. 553.73, F.S.;

7

specifying that the Florida Building Code does not

8

restrict implementation of standards to provide for

9

accessibility by handicapped persons or standards for

10

thermal efficiency; providing an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13

     Section 1. Section 553.731, Florida Statutes, is repealed.

15

     Section 2.  Subsection (13) is added to section 553.73,

16

Florida Statutes, to read:

17

     553.73  Florida Building Code.--

18

     (13) This section does not restrict the adoption,

19

implementation, or integration within the Florida Building Code

20

of codes adopted under part II or part V of this chapter.

21

     Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
