| 4 | Remove lines 542-555 and insert: |
| 5 | (6) The Legislature finds that the Road-to-Independence |
| 6 | Program, as described in s. 409.1451, is similar to the Job |
| 7 | Training Partnership Act for purposes of s. 42(i)(3)(D)(i)(II) |
| 8 | of the Internal Revenue Code. |
| 9 | (7) The Legislature affirms that young adults |
| 10 | transitioning out of foster care are to be considered eligible |
| 11 | persons, as defined in ss. 420.503(17) and 420.9071(10), for |
| 12 | affordable housing purposes and shall be encouraged to |
| 13 | participate in state, federal, and local affordable housing |
| 14 | programs. |
| 15 | (8) It is therefore the intent of the Legislature to |
| 16 | encourage the Florida Housing Finance Corporation, State Housing |
| 17 | Initiative Partnership Program agencies, local housing finance |
| 18 | agencies, public housing authorities and their agents, |
| 19 | developers, and other providers of affordable housing to make |
| 20 | affordable housing available to youth transitioning out of |
| 21 | foster care whenever and wherever possible. |
