The Committee on Education Pre-K - 12 (Gaetz) recommended the

following amendment:

     Between lines 1300 and 1301, insert:

The Department of Education shall cause to be

7

investigated immediately any complaint filed before it or

8

otherwise called to its attention that involves misconduct by an

9

educator with a student or any complaint filed before it or

10

otherwise called to its attention that involves the health,

11

safety, and welfare of a minor child. The department must

12

investigate or continue to investigate and take action on such a

13

complaint filed against a person whose educator certificate has

14

expired if the act or acts which are the basis for the complaint

15

were allegedly committed while that person possessed an educator

16

certificate.
