3     Amendment to Senate Amendment (206662) (with title
4amendment)
5     Between lines 1195-1196 and insert:
6     Section 21.  Section 1006.125, Florida Statutes, is created
7to read:
8     1006.125  Referrals to law enforcement; serious offenses.--
9     (1)  A student alleged to have committed a serious offense
10shall be reported to the law enforcement agency having
11jurisdiction over the student's school of attendance. This
12requirement may be satisfied by providing notice to the
13appropriate school resource officer of the charge of violation
14of the code of student conduct and discipline code.
15     (2)  As used in this section, serious offense includes an
16offense that would constitute a capital felony; life felony;
17first degree felony; second or third degree felony involving a
18firearm or weapon or violence against another person; a
19delinquent act that would constitute such a felony if committed
20by an adult; or an offense that poses a serious threat to school
21safety or the safety of any individual student or group of
22students.
