3     Amendment to Senate Amendment (206662) (with title
4amendment)
5     Between lines 1233 and 1234, insert:
6     Section 22.  Section 1006.125, Florida Statutes, is created
7to read:
8     1006.125  Referrals to law enforcement; serious offenses.--
9     (1)  A student alleged to have committed a serious offense
10shall be reported to the law enforcement agency having
11jurisdiction over the student's school of attendance. This
12requirement may be satisfied by providing notice to the
13appropriate school resource officer of the charge of violation
14of the code of student conduct and discipline code.
15     (2)  As used in this section, the term "serious offense"
16includes an offense that would constitute a capital felony; life
17felony; first degree felony; second or third degree felony
18involving a firearm or weapon or violence against another
19person; a delinquent act that would constitute such a felony if
20committed by an adult; or an offense that poses a serious threat
21to school safety or the safety of any individual student or
22group of students.
