| 5 | (2) State shared resource data centers and other data |
| 6 | centers that the Agency for Enterprise Information Technology |
| 7 | has determined will be recipients for consolidating data |
| 8 | centers, which are designated by the Agency for Enterprise |
| 9 | Information Technology, shall evaluate their data center |
| 10 | facilities for energy efficiency using the standards established |
| 11 | in this section. |
| 12 | (a) Results of these evaluations shall be reported to the |
| 13 | Agency for Enterprise Information Technology, the President of |
| 14 | the Senate, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. |
| 15 | Reports shall enable the tracking of energy performance over |
| 16 | time and comparisons between facilities. |
| 17 | (b) By December 31, 2010, and bi-annually thereafter, the |
| 18 | Agency for Enterprise Information Technology shall submit to the |
| 19 | Legislature recommendations for reducing energy consumption and |
| 20 | improving the energy efficiency of state data centers. |
| 21 | (3) The primary means of achieving maximum energy savings |
| 22 | across all state data centers and computing facilities shall be |
| 23 | the consolidation of data centers and computing facilities as |
| 24 | determined by the Agency for Enterprise Information Technology. |
| 25 | State data centers and computing facilities in the state data |
| 26 | center system shall be established as an enterprise information |
| 27 | technology service as defined in s. 282.0041. The Agency for |
| 28 | Enterprise Information Technology shall make recommendations on |
| 29 | consolidating state data centers and computing facilities, |
| 30 | pursuant to s. 282.0056, by December 31, 2009. |
| 31 | (4) When the total cost of ownership of an energy- |
| 32 | efficient product is less than or equal to the cost of the |
| 33 | existing data center facility or infrastructure, technical |
| 34 | specifications for energy-efficient products should be |
| 35 | incorporated in the plans and processes for replacing, |
| 36 | upgrading, or expanding data center facilities or |
| 37 | infrastructure, including, but not limited to, network, storage, |
| 38 | or computer equipment and software. |
