| 7 | timeframe; providing for application for extension; |
| 8 | providing that an individual who completes the required |
| 9 | postdoctoral training residency may continue to practice |
| 10 | under supervision under certain conditions; providing an |
| 11 | effective date. |

| 13 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 14 |

| 15 | Section 1. Subsection (3) is added to section 490.005, |
| 16 | Florida Statutes, to read: |
| 17 | 490.005 Licensure by examination.-- |
| 18 | (3)(a) The board shall close the application file of any |
| 19 | applicant who fails to pass the psychology licensure examination |
| 20 | and the laws and rules examination, or fails to submit evidence |
| 21 | of completion of the postdoctoral supervised experience, within |
| 22 | a timeframe no longer than 24 months. |
| 23 | (b) The board shall implement a procedure by which an |
| 24 | applicant may apply for an extension of the required timeframe. |
| 25 | (c) An individual who completes the required postdoctoral |
| 26 | training residency may continue to practice under supervision in |
| 27 | a manner prescribed by the board by rule provided he or she has |
| 28 | a current application on file and no final order of denial has |
| 29 | been issued. |
| 30 | Section 2. This act shall take effect January 1, 2009. |
