A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to licensure of psychologists; amending s.
3490.005, F.S.; requiring the Board of Psychology to close
4application files of applicants failing to pass certain
5examinations, or failing to submit evidence of completion
6of postdoctoral supervised experience, within a specified
7timeframe; providing that an individual who completes the
8required postdoctoral training residency may continue to
9practice under supervision under certain conditions;
10providing an effective date.

12Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

14     Section 1.  Subsection (3) is added to section 490.005,
15Florida Statutes, to read:
16     490.005  Licensure by examination.--
17     (3)(a)  The board shall close the application file of any
18applicant who fails to pass the psychology licensure examination
19and the laws and rules examination, or fails to submit evidence
20of completion of the postdoctoral supervised experience, within
21a timeframe no longer than 24 months.
22     (b)  An individual who completes the required postdoctoral
23training residency may continue to practice under supervision in
24a manner prescribed by the board by rule provided he or she has
25a current application on file and no final order of denial has
26been issued.
27     Section 2.  This act shall take effect January 1, 2009.
