An act relating to political contributions; amending s.

106.08, F.S.; setting a limit on contributions to

electioneering communication organizations of $500 per

person or committee; providing an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1.  Paragraph (a) of subsection (1) of section

10

106.08, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:

     106.08  Contributions; limitations on.--

12

     (1)(a)  Except for political parties, no person, political

13

committee, or committee of continuous existence may, in any

14

election, make contributions in excess of $500 to any candidate

15

for election to or retention in office, or to any political

16

committee supporting or opposing one or more candidates, or to

17

any electioneering communication organization. Candidates for the

18

offices of Governor and Lieutenant Governor on the same ticket

19

are considered a single candidate for the purpose of this

20

section.

     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
