1	House Resolution
2	A resolution expressing appreciation to Norman Tripp for
3	his leadership in public service.

5	WHEREAS, Norman Tripp, a long-time community leader in
6	Broward County, has a distinguished record of rendering valuable
7	services to the people of Florida, and
8	WHEREAS, Norman Tripp has given generously of his time,
9	talents, and expertise to bring Florida's system of public
10	education to new levels of efficiency, effectiveness, and
11	accountability, and
12	WHEREAS, Norman Tripp has played an important personal role
13	in the governance of Florida's state universities through his
14	exemplary service as an original member and current chair of the
15	Florida Atlantic University Board of Trustees, and
16	WHEREAS, as a founding benefactor of the Community
17	Foundation of Broward, dedicated to improving education and
18	diversity, Norman Tripp initiated the Tripp Fund for Educational
19	Opportunity and the Tripp Scott Fund for Community Diversity,
20	and
21	WHEREAS, over a period of many years, Norman Tripp has
22	shown himself to be committed to the advancement of higher
23	education in Florida, serving as a member and chair of the State
24	Board of Community Colleges, a member of the South Florida Board
25	for the Annenberg Challenge Grant, a member of the advisory
26	board of Huizenga School of Business at Nova Southeastern
27	University, and a trustee for the University of Miami, NOW,
28	THEREFORE,

30	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
31	Florida:

33	That the House of Representatives offers sincere thanks to
34	Norman Tripp for his dedicated, effective, and untiring public
35	service which has made a real difference in the lives of
36	countless Floridians.
37	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
38	presented to Norman Tripp as a tangible token of the sentiments
39	expressed herein.
