       Senator Fasano moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 132 and 133
    4  insert:
    5         (j) Notwithstanding s. 212.054, if a multicounty
    6  independent special district created pursuant to chapter 67-764,
    7  Laws of Florida, levies ad valorem taxes on district property to
    8  fund emergency fire rescue services within the district and is
    9  required by s. 2, Art. VII of the State Constitution to maintain
   10  a uniform ad valorem tax rate throughout the district, the
   11  county may not levy the discretionary sales surtax authorized by
   12  this subsection within the boundaries of the district.

   15         And the title is amended as follows:
   16         Delete line 20
   17  and insert:
   18  circumstances; prohibiting a county from levying the surtax
   19  within certain multicounty independent special districts;
   20  providing an effective date.
