       The Committee on Communications, Energy, and Public Utilities
       (King) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment 
    2  
    3         Between lines 308 and 309
    4  insert:
    5  (7) In order to further promote the development of nuclear
    6  electrical generation and minimize the financial risk to any one
    7  utility associated with the construction of a nuclear power
    8  plant, electric utilities in this state are encouraged to pursue
    9  the joint-ownership of nuclear power plants. Under such joint
   10  ownership agreements, the costs of siting, preconstruction and
   11  construction shall be shared on a pro-rata basis in proportion
   12  to the capacity and energy received.
