10 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

12 | Section 1. Section 741.0101, Florida Statutes, is created |
13 | to read: |
14 | 741.0101 Marriage Education Trust Fund.-- |
15 | (1) The Marriage Education Trust Fund is created within |
16 | the Executive Office of the Governor for the purpose of |
17 | collecting and disbursing funds generated from the additional |
18 | marriage license fee in s. 741.01(4)(b). The funds shall be |
19 | directed to the Department of Children and Family Services for |
20 | the specific purpose of funding marriage education programs that |
21 | prepare, strengthen, and restore healthy marriage relationships |
22 | and shall be appropriated in a grants-in-aid category to the |
23 | department for that purpose. |
24 | (2) Pursuant to the provisions of s. 19(f)(2), Art. III of |
25 | the State Constitution, the trust fund shall, unless terminated |
26 | sooner, be terminated on July 1, 2013. Prior to its scheduled |
27 | termination, the trust fund shall be reviewed as provided in s. |
28 | 215.3206(1) and (2). |
29 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2009, if |
30 | House Bill 1185 or similar legislation is adopted in the same |
31 | legislative session or an extension thereof and becomes law. |
