9 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

11 | Section 1. Section 787.07, Florida Statutes, is created to |
12 | read: |
13 | 787.07 Human smuggling.-- |
14 | (1) A person who transports into this state an individual |
15 | who the person knows, or should know, is illegally entering the |
16 | United States from another country commits a misdemeanor of the |
17 | first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. |
18 | 775.083. |
19 | (2) A person commits a separate offense for each |
20 | individual he or she transports into this state in violation of |
21 | this section. |
22 | Section 2. This act shall take effect October 1, 2009. |
