7 | of 211 numbers under certain circumstances; providing an |

10 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

12 | Section 1. Subsection (2) of 408.918, Florida Statutes, is |
13 | amended to read: |
14 | 408.918 Florida 211 Network; uniform certification |
15 | requirements.-- |
16 | (2) In order to participate in the Florida 211 Network, a |
17 | 211 provider must be accredited by certified by the Agency for |
18 | Health Care Administration. The agency shall develop criteria |
19 | for certification, as recommended by the Florida Alliance of |
20 | Information and Referral Services. The 211 provider shall notify |
21 | the Public Service Commission of its accreditation in order to |
22 | receive authorization for the 211 number, and shall adopt the |
23 | criteria as administrative rules. |
24 | (a) If any provider of information and referral services |
25 | or other entity leases a 211 number from a local exchange |
26 | company and is not accredited as described in this subsection |
27 | certified by the agency, the agency shall, after consultation |
28 | with the local exchange company and the Public Service |
29 | Commission shall, request that the Federal Communications |
30 | Commission direct the local exchange company to revoke the use |
31 | of the 211 number. |
32 | (b) The agency shall seek the assistance and guidance of |
33 | the Public Service Commission and the Federal Communications |
34 | Commission in resolving any disputes arising over jurisdiction |
35 | related to 211 numbers. |
36 | Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. |
