    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to land conservation; amending s.
    3         369.22, F.S.; deleting obsolete provisions defining
    4         the term “districts” as it relates to the water
    5         management districts; providing an effective date.
    6         
    7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    8         
    9         Section 1. Paragraph (g) of subsection (2) of section
   10  369.22, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
   11         369.22 Aquatic plant management.—
   12         (2) For the purpose of this section, the following words
   13  and phrases shall have the following meanings:
   14         (g) “Districts” means the six water management districts
   15  created by law and named, respectively, the Northwest Florida
   16  Water Management District, the Suwannee River Water Management
   17  District, the St. Johns River Water Management District, the
   18  Southwest Florida Water Management District, the Central and
   19  Southern Florida Flood Control District, and the Ridge and Lower
   20  Gulf Coast Water Management District; and on July 1, 1975, shall
   21  mean the five water management districts created by chapter 73
   22  190, Laws of Florida, and named, respectively, the Northwest
   23  Florida Water Management District, the Suwannee River Water
   24  Management District, the St. Johns River Water Management
   25  District, the Southwest Florida Water Management District, and
   26  the South Florida Water Management District.
   27         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2009.
