A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to the Fish and Wildlife Conservation
3Commission; requiring that applications for all
4recreational activity licenses include a provision for the
5license applicant to make a voluntary contribution to
6Southeastern Guide Dogs, Inc.; providing for the
7distribution and use of funds raised by such
8contributions; providing an effective date.

10Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12     Section 1.  The application for any license for
13recreational activities issued under part VI of chapter 379,
14Florida Statutes, must include a check-off provision that
15permits the applicant for licensure to make a voluntary
16contribution of $2. The Fish and Wildlife Conservation
17Commission shall retain 90 cents from each contribution to cover
18administrative costs. The remainder of each contribution shall
19be distributed quarterly by the Fish and Wildlife Conservation
20Commission to Southeastern Guide Dogs, Inc., located in
21Palmetto. Southeastern Guide Dogs, Inc., shall use the
22contributions to breed, raise, and train guide dogs specifically
23for the Paws for Patriots program, including in-residence
24training for veterans who are provided guide dogs by
25Southeastern Guide Dogs, Inc.
26     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2009.
