A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to Panama City, Bay County; amending
3chapter 63-1757, Laws of Florida, as amended; deleting
4provisions relating to specific items the planning board
5must take into consideration in its plans; removing the
6requirement that the members of the city commission and
7the city manager be ex officio members of the planning
8board; providing an effective date.

10Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
11
12     Section 1.  Section 260 of chapter 63-1757, Laws of
13Florida, as amended, is amended to read:
14     Section 260.  Creation; membership; duties; adoption of
15plans. The city commission may provide by ordinance for the
16establishment of a city planning board, the members of which
17shall serve without compensation, and it shall be the duty of
18such board to procure and suggest plans for the arrangement of
19the city with a view to its general improvements and probable
20future growth and demands, these plans to take into
21consideration the extension of the city works into adjacent
22territory, improvement and changes in public utilities, and
23lines of transportation by surface and water; the location,
24widths and grades of highways necessary for the best treatment
25of the city; the development and improvement of waterfronts with
26seawalls and wharves; the location and design of public
27buildings; municipal decoration and ornamentation; and such
28further extensions of and additions to the park and boulevard
29system as may be deemed advisable. The members of the city
30commission and the city manager shall be ex officio members of
31the city planning board.
32     Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
