5 | Section 22. By February 1, 2010, the Office of Program |
6 | Policy Analysis and Government Accountability shall submit a |
7 | report to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the |
8 | President of the Senate, the Commissioner of Insurance, the |
9 | Chief Financial Officer, and the Governor reviewing the laws |
10 | governing public adjusters as defined in s. 626.854, Florida |
11 | Statutes. The report shall include a review of relevant |
12 | Citizens Property Insurance Corporation claims and statistics |
13 | involving public adjusters, public adjuster claims submission |
14 | practices, and a review of the laws of this state and rules |
15 | governing public adjusters. The report shall also review state |
16 | laws governing public adjusters throughout the United States. |
17 | The review shall encompass a review of both catastrophe and |
18 | noncatastrophe related claims, with a specific focus on new and |
19 | supplemental or reopened catastrophe claims originated in 2009 |
20 | which relate to hurricanes that occurred in 2004 and 2005. The |
21 | study shall review the effects on consumers of the laws of this |
22 | state relating to public adjusters. |
