    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the practice of architecture and
    3         interior design; amending s. 481.213, F.S.; providing
    4         that an applicant for licensure by endorsement who was
    5         licensed in another state after June 30, 2000, must
    6         meet certain educational and internship requirements;
    7         providing an effective date.
    8         
    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10         
   11         Section 1. Paragraph (c) of subsection (3) of section
   12  481.213, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
   13         481.213 Licensure.—
   14         (3) The board shall certify as qualified for a license by
   15  endorsement as an architect or as an interior designer an
   16  applicant who:
   17         (c) Has passed the prescribed licensure examination and
   18  holds a valid certificate issued by the National Council of
   19  Architectural Registration Boards, and holds a valid license to
   20  practice architecture issued by another state or jurisdiction of
   21  the United States. For the purposes of this paragraph, any
   22  applicant licensed in another state or jurisdiction after June
   23  30, 2000 1984, must also hold a degree in architecture and such
   24  degree must be equivalent to that required in s. 481.209(1)(b)
   25  and. Also for the purposes of this paragraph, any applicant
   26  licensed in another state or jurisdiction after June 30, 1985,
   27  must have completed an internship equivalent to that required by
   28  s. 481.211 and any rules adopted with respect thereto.
   29         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2009.
