       The Committee on Commerce (Garcia) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 139 - 146
    4  and insert:
    5         (b)This chapter does not preempt ordinances or regulations
    6  enacted by a county before January 1, 2009, or subsequent
    7  amendments to such ordinances or regulations. However,
    8  registration fees required by such ordinances or regulations
    9  must be reasonable, not to exceed the cost of administering the
   10  ordinance or regulation. Such ordinances may only require
   11  registration and bonding of a mover or moving broker whose
   12  principal place of business is located within that jurisdiction.
   13         (c)This section does not preempt a local government’s
   14  authority to levy a local business tax pursuant to ch. 205.

   18         And the title is amended as follows:
   19         Delete line 25
   20  and insert:
   21         moving brokers; providing for local registration and
   22  bonding; exempting local business taxes from being preempted;
   23  providing an effective date.
