       The Policy and Steering Committee on Ways and Means (Altman)
       recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment to Amendment (796546) (with title
    2  amendment)
    3  
    4         Delete lines 84 - 98
    5  and insert:
    6         (6) A sheriff, deputy sheriff, police officer, or state law
    7  enforcement officer, upon the seizure of any Indian cigarettes
    8  or Indian tobacco products in the possession of nontribal
    9  members under this section, shall promptly report the seizure to
   10  the division or its representative, together with a description
   11  of all such cigarettes and tobacco products seized, so that the
   12  state may be kept informed as to the size and magnitude of the
   13  illicit cigarette business. The division shall keep records
   14  showing the number of seizures and seized cigarettes reported
   15  to, or seized by, the division.
