       Senator Peaden moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Substitute for Amendment (585012) 
    2  
    3         Delete lines 68 - 75
    4  and insert:
    5         (e) Provide a mechanism to inform the prescriber prior to
    6  any substitution of drugs by using a method of communication
    7  designated by the prescriber on the prescription for such
    8  purpose. The method of communication designated by the
    9  prescriber shall be noted in the patient’s chart. There may not
   10  be any substitution of drugs on the institutional formulary for
   11  a prescriber’s patients unless the prescriber has elected to
   12  participate in the institutional formulary system by providing
   13  annual written prior consent.
