| 8 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 9 |
|
| 10 | Section 1. Subsection (9) of section 320.03, Florida |
| 11 | Statutes, is amended to read: |
| 12 | 320.03 Registration; duties of tax collectors; |
| 13 | International Registration Plan.-- |
| 14 | (9) A nonrefundable fee of $3 $1.50 shall be charged on |
| 15 | the initial and renewal registration of each automobile for |
| 16 | private use, and on the initial and renewal registration of each |
| 17 | truck having a net weight of 5,000 pounds or less. Such fees |
| 18 | shall be deposited in the Transportation Disadvantaged Trust |
| 19 | Fund created in part I of chapter 427 and shall be used as |
| 20 | provided therein, except that priority shall be given to the |
| 21 | transportation needs of those who, because of age or physical |
| 22 | and mental disability, are unable to transport themselves and |
| 23 | are dependent upon others to obtain access to health care, |
| 24 | employment, education, shopping, or other life-sustaining |
| 25 | activities. |
| 26 | Section 2. This act shall take effect October 1, 2009. |
