       Senator Ring moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

    3         Delete lines 156 - 164
    4  and insert:
    5  
    6         Section 7. The amendments to s. 626.913, Florida Statutes,
    7  in this act are remedial in nature and operate retroactively to
    8  the regulation of surplus lines insurers from October 1, 1998,
    9  except with respect to lawsuits that are pending on the
   10  effective date of this act.
   11         Section 8. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
