       Senator Joyner moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

    3         Between lines 966 and 967
    4  insert:
    5  
    6         Section 3. Subsection (7) is added to section 624.46226,
    7  Florida Statutes, to read:
    8         624.46226 Public housing authorities self-insurance funds;
    9  exemption for taxation and assessments.—
   10         (7) A reinsurance company that complies with s. 624.610 may
   11  issue reinsurance contracts directly to a public housing
   12  authority that self-insures pursuant to this section. A public
   13  housing authority shall be deemed to be an insurer for the sole
   14  purpose of purchasing reinsurance. A reinsurance contract that
   15  is issued to a public housing authority shall receive the same
   16  tax treatment as reinsurance contracts issued to insurance
   17  companies.
