       Senator Gaetz moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 1942 and 1943
    4  insert:
    5         Section 59. Subsection (8) is added to section 481.229,
    6  Florida Statutes, to read:
    7         481.229 Exceptions; exemptions from licensure.—
    8         (8) A manufacturer of commercial food service equipment or
    9  8 the manufacturer’s representative, distributor, or dealer or
   10  an employee thereof, who prepares designs, specifications, or
   11  layouts for the sale or installation of such equipment is exempt
   12  from licensure as an architect or interior designer, if:
   13         (a) The designs, specifications, or layouts are not used
   14  for construction or installation that may affect structural,
   15  mechanical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, ventilating,
   16  electrical, or vertical transportation systems.
   17         (b) The designs, specifications, or layouts do not
   18  materially affect lifesafety systems pertaining to firesafety
   19  protection, smoke evacuation and compartmentalization, and
   20  emergency ingress or egress systems.
   21         (c) Each design, specification, or layout document prepared
   22  by a person or entity exempt under this subsection contains a
   23  statement on each page of the document that the designs,
   24  specifications, or layouts are not architectural, interior
   25  design, or engineering designs, specifications, or layouts and
   26  not used for construction unless reviewed and approved by a
   27  licensed architect or engineer.

   30         And the title is amended as follows:
   31         Delete line 212
   32  and insert:
   33         made to s. 455.227, F.S., in references thereto;
   34         amending s. 481.229, F.S.; exempting certain persons
   35         or entities engaged in the manufacture, sale, or
   36         installation of commercial food service equipment from
   37         provisions regulating architecture and interior design
   38         under certain circumstances;
