    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to fire safety requirements; exempting
    3         certain condominium buildings from specific provisions
    4         of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 101
    5         Life Safety Code; providing an effective date.
    6         
    7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    8         
    9         Section 1. A two-story condominium building that does not
   10  have direct outside access to the ground floor is exempt from
   11  chapter 31.3.3.4.1 of the National Fire Protection Association
   12  (NFPA) 101 Life Safety Code, which requires such a building to
   13  be in compliance with section 9.6 of that code, if the building
   14  is in compliance with all other state and local fire safety
   15  requirements.
   16         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2009.
