Section 1001.364, Florida Statutes, is repealed. 6 Section 2. Section 1001.365, Florida Statutes, is repealed. 7 Section 3. Section 1001.371, Florida Statutes, is amended 8 to read: 9 1001.371 Organization of district school board.—On the 10 third Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each year, 11 the district school board shall organize by electing a chair. It 12 may elect a vice chair, and the district school superintendent 13 shall act ex officio as the secretary. If a vacancy should occur 14 in the position of chair, the district school board shall 15 proceed to elect a chair at the next ensuing regular or special 16 meeting. At the organization meeting, the district school 17 superintendent shall act as chair until the organization is 18 completed. The chair and secretary shall then make and sign a 19 copy of the proceedings of organization, including the schedule 20 for regular meetings and the names and addresses of all district 21 school officers, and annex their affidavits that the same is a 22 true and correct copy of the original, and the secretary shall 23 file the document within 2 weeks with the Department of 24 Education.This section does not apply to any school district25with a district school board chair who is elected by26districtwide vote.27 28 29 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 30 And the title is amended as follows: 31 Delete line 3 32 and insert: 33 accountability; repealing s. 1001.364, F.S., relating 34 to an alternate county-wide referendum procedure in 35 certain counties for the election of a district school 36 board chair; repealing s. 1001.365, F.S., relating to 37 resolving tie votes among school board members in 38 certain school districts; amending s. 1001.371, F.S.; 39 deleting provisions governing the organization of 40 district school boards, to conform; amending s. 41 1003.413, F.S.; redefining
