Florida Senate - 2009 (NP) SR 2748 By Senator Oelrich 14-03319-09 20092748__ 1 Senate Resolution 2 A resolution honoring the members of the Phi Theta 3 Kappa 2009 All-Florida Academic Team. 4 5 WHEREAS, April 2, 2009, “Florida Phi Theta Kappa Day,” is 6 an appropriate time for the Legislature of the State of Florida 7 to recognize and salute Phi Theta Kappa, the esteemed 8 international honor society for state, community, and junior 9 colleges, and 10 WHEREAS, special commendations should be extended to the 11 outstanding scholars who compose the 2009 All-Florida Academic 12 Team, a team of highly successful college students assembled by 13 the Florida College System, and 14 WHEREAS, 92 students from the Florida College System, one 15 private institution, Florida College, and one independent 16 university, Keiser University, were named to the 2009 All 17 Florida Academic Team, and 18 WHEREAS, based on the national ranking of these students in 19 the All-USA Academic Team competition sponsored by USA Today and 20 Phi Theta Kappa, which is known internationally, nationally, and 21 in the State of Florida as the primary college organization for 22 the recognition of academic achievement, leadership, and service 23 to the community, the following students compose the 2009 All 24 Florida Academic Team: 25 James Alcorn, Polk Community College;
