4 | Remove lines 719-740 and insert: |
5 | statement to the sponsor during the initial charter term. Upon |
6 | renewal of the charter or if authorized by the sponsor during |
7 | the initial charter term, a charter school shall provide the |
8 | financial statement to the sponsor on a quarterly basis. Monthly |
9 | and quarterly financial statements shall be in a form prescribed |
10 | by the Department of Education. |
11 | (h)(i) The governing board of the charter school shall |
12 | annually adopt and maintain an operating budget. |
13 | (i)(j) The governing body of the charter school shall |
14 | exercise continuing oversight over charter school operations. |
15 | (j)(k) The governing body of the charter school shall be |
16 | responsible for: |
17 | 1. Ensuring that the charter school has retained the |
18 | services of a certified public accountant or auditor for the |
19 | annual financial audit, pursuant to s. 218.39 paragraph (g), who |
20 | shall submit the report to the governing body. |
21 | 2. Reviewing and approving the audit report, including |
22 | audit findings and recommendations for the financial recovery |
23 | plan. |
24 | 3.a. Performing the duties in s. 1002.345, including |
25 | monitoring a corrective action plan. |
26 | b. Monitoring a financial recovery plan in order to ensure |
27 | compliance. |
28 | 4. Participating in governance training approved by the |
29 | department which that must include government in the sunshine, |
30 | conflicts of interest, ethics, and financial responsibility. |
31 | Members of a governing board shall not be required to attend |
32 | governance training more than once. A new member must |
33 | participate in governance training within 6 months after |
34 | beginning his or her role as a governing board member. |
