The Committee on Banking and Insurance (Bennett) recommended the
following:
1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

3 Delete lines 28 - 36
4 and insert:
5 disorder or other developmental delays, the parent or legal
6 guardian may report his or her observation to a physician
7 licensed in this state. The physician shall immediately refer
8 the minor to an appropriate specialist for screening, evaluation
9 of, or diagnosis for autism spectrum disorder or other
10 developmental delays. This section does not apply to a physician
11 providing care under s. 395.1041.
12 (2) As used in this section, the term “appropriate
13 specialist” means a qualified professional who is experienced in
14 the evaluation of autism spectrum disorder or other
15 developmental delays, who has training in
