The Committee on Community Affairs (Altman) recommended the
following:
1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

4 insert:
5 Section 20. Paragraph (a) of subsection (1) of section
6 316.613, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
7 316.613 Child restraint requirements.—
8 (1)(a) Every operator of a motor vehicle as defined herein,
9 while transporting a child in a motor vehicle operated on the
10 roadways, streets, or highways of this state, shall, if the
11 child is 5 years of age or younger, provide for protection of
12 the child by properly using a crash-tested, federally approved
13 child restraint device. For children aged through 3 years, such
14 restraint device must be a separate carrier or a vehicle
15 manufacturer’s integrated child seat. For children aged 4
16 through 5 years, a separate carrier, an integrated child seat,
17 or a child booster seat belt may be used.

21 Delete line 158
22 and insert:
23 amending s. 316.613, F.S.; clarifying provisions
24 related to required child restraint devices; providing
25 an effective date.
