       The Committee on Transportation (Joyner) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Substitute for Amendment (473924) (with title
    2  amendment)
    3  
    4         Delete lines 9 - 10
    5  and insert:
    6         Section 1. Subsection (9) of section 320.03, Florida
    7  Statutes, is amended to read:
    8         320.03 Registration; duties of tax collectors;
    9  International Registration Plan.—
   10         (9) A nonrefundable fee of $3 $1.50 shall be charged on the
   11  initial and renewal registration of each automobile for private
   12  use, and on the initial and renewal registration of each truck
   13  having a net weight of 5,000 pounds or less. Such fees shall be
   14  deposited in the Transportation Disadvantaged Trust Fund created
   15  in part I of chapter 427 and shall be used as provided therein,
   16  except that priority shall be given to the transportation needs
   17  of those who, because of age or physical and mental disability,
   18  are unable to transport themselves and are dependent upon others
   19  to obtain access to health care, employment, education,
   20  shopping, or other life-sustaining activities.
   21         Section 2. This act shall take effect October 1, 2009.

   26  and insert:

   28         An act relating to transportation; amending s. 320.03,
   29  F.S.; revising a fee charged for the initial and renewal
   30  registration of certain automobiles and trucks and deposited
   31  into the Transportation Disadvantaged Trust Fund;
