       The Committee on Transportation (Baker) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 8 - 9
    4  and insert:
    5         Section 1. Subsection (2) of section 337.0261, Florida
    6  Statutes, is amended to read:
    7         337.0261 Construction aggregate materials.—
    8         (2) LEGISLATIVE INTENT.—The Legislature finds that there is
    9  a strategic and critical need for an available supply of
   10  construction aggregate materials within the state and that a
   11  disruption of the supply would cause a significant detriment to
   12  the state’s construction industry, transportation system, and
   13  overall health, safety, and welfare. In addition, the
   14  Legislature recognizes that construction aggregate materials
   15  mining is an industry of critical importance to the State and
   16  that the mining of construction aggregate materials is in the
   17  public interest.

   20         And the title is amended as follows:
   21         Delete lines 2 - 4
   22  and insert:
   23  An act relating to transportation; amending s. 337.0261, F.S.;
   24  finding that the mining of construction aggregate materials is
   25  of critical importance to the State and in the public interest.
   26  Providing an effective date.
