    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to advanced registered nurse
    3         practitioners; amending s. 893.02, F.S.; redefining
    4         the term “practitioner” for purposes of the Florida
    5         Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act to
    6         include advanced registered nurse practitioners;
    7         providing an effective date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10         
   11         Section 1. Subsection (20) of section 893.02, Florida
   12  Statutes, is amended to read:
   13         893.02 Definitions.—The following words and phrases as used
   14  in this chapter shall have the following meanings, unless the
   15  context otherwise requires:
   16         (20) “Practitioner” means a physician licensed pursuant to
   17  chapter 458, a dentist licensed pursuant to chapter 466, a
   18  veterinarian licensed pursuant to chapter 474, an osteopathic
   19  physician licensed pursuant to chapter 459, a naturopath
   20  licensed pursuant to chapter 462, or a podiatric physician
   21  licensed pursuant to chapter 461, or an advanced registered
   22  nurse practitioner licensed pursuant to s. 464.012, if provided
   23  such practitioner holds a valid federal controlled substance
   24  registry number.
   25         Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
