3     Amendment
4     Remove lines 203-211 and insert:
5to appear before any judge or hearing officer authorized by law
6to preside over a hearing that adjudicates traffic infractions.
7A person who elects to appear before the judge or hearing
8officer to present evidence is deemed to have waived the
9limitation of civil penalties imposed for the violation. The
10judge or hearing officer, after hearing, shall determine whether
11the violation was committed and may impose a civil penalty not
12to exceed $150 plus costs. The judge or hearing officer may take
13appropriate measures to enforce the collection of any penalty
14not paid within the time permitted by the county, municipality,
15or court.
