8 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

10 | Section 1. Paragraph (f) of subsection (3) of section |
11 | 489.537, Florida Statutes, is amended, and subsection (10) is |
12 | added to that section, to read: |
13 | 489.537 Application of this part.-- |
14 | (3) Nothing in this act limits the power of a municipality |
15 | or county: |
16 | (f) To require that one electrical journeyman, who is a |
17 | graduate of the Institute of Applied Technology in Construction |
18 | Excellence or licensed pursuant to s. 489.5335, be present on an |
19 | industrial or commercial new construction site with a facility |
20 | of 50,000 gross square feet or more when electrical work in |
21 | excess of 77 volts is being performed in order to supervise or |
22 | perform such work, except as provided in s. 489.503. |
23 | (10) At least one electrical journeyman who is licensed |
24 | pursuant to s. 489.5335 must be present on an industrial or |
25 | commercial new construction site when electrical work in excess |
26 | of 98 volts is being performed in order to supervise or perform |
27 | such work, except as provided in s. 489.503. |
28 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2009. |
